For kids, asking for:

  • Lasting friendships
  • Support from parents and teachers
  • Good grades
  • A sense of self-worth
  • Feelings of loneliness and depression
  • Real help from a therapist

My therapy with teenagers is to get them to understand the value of speaking to a counsellor, to make them understand it will help them get what they are looking for, which is support, that in itself would be a great leap forward in treatment.

My approach to teenagers is different in a sense where they see the natural me, not the “Therapist”, conducting therapy as natural and normal to help keep open communication without any premeditated rules or scripts.
